Banknotes condition falls into either one of 2 categories, circulated or uncirculated. Within these categories are sets of sub-categories.
Circulated Vs Uncirculated banknotes
Circulated banknotes have been used by the general public, they may appear dirty and worn have a distinct smell, and their texture may be raggedy. These banknotes are currently being used as the currency of respective nations or country.
Uncirculated banknotes are like new, mint condition and well preserved, these notes sometimes come strapped in bundles with serial numbers in a consecutive order.
Sub-categories and Graded banknotes
Banknotes condition is subjective and may vary from collector to collector. The Sub-categories are Poor, Fair, Good, Very good, Very fine & last is the Extremely fine condition. From these notes the finest uncirculated notes are selected to centigrade along with some circulated notes. Grading is based on a scale of 1-70 70 being the best and rarest. Third party graders like PMG receive and examine our banknotes and assign them a grade based on this scale. The selected banknotes are graded in terms of visual appeal, fold or creases even margin, spacing and other aesthetic factors.
